The Board of Trustees is made up of citizens representing the Shelby community and serves as the library’s governing body. The Board’s role is to:

  • Oversee the budget
  • Establish policies
  • Appoint and oversee the Library Director
  • Guide the future of the library through long-range strategic planning

Board Meetings

The Board of Trustees meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month (except July and December) at 5:30 p.m. in the Shelby Area District Library Board Room at 189 N Maple Street, Shelby. The public is welcome to attend and may participate during the public comment period at the start of the meeting.
