29th Annual Celebration of the Holidays to Take Place November 19-23
The Friends of Shelby Area District Library are pleased to announce that the 29th annual Celebration of the Holidays (formerly known as Celebration of the Trees) is back! Holiday displays, decorated artificial trees, quilts, artwork, and more will be on display for silent auction bids Tuesday, November 19 thru Saturday, November 23 when final bidding closes at noon. A table with priced holiday items will also be offered.
Want to create or donate items for the silent auction and/or sale?
Please complete the registration form and indicate a time to bring in and set up your entry on Monday, November 18 from 9am until 5:00 pm. Return your form to the library by November 12 or mail/email to:

If you cannot set up on November 18, please contact me for an alternate time during regular library hours before November 18. Volunteers are needed to help with set up, make phone calls, display posters in the community, and more. Sign up at the circulation desk or contact me. We also invite you to place bids on the many beautiful displays and artificial trees offered for silent auction! If you would like to donate an artificial tree or wreath to be decorated by Friends of S.A.D.L. and auctioned, please drop it off at the library during regular hours October – November 8.
Like last year we will be taking donations of $10.00 to have an ornament placed on a decorated tree with your name (or anonymous). For each $10.00 donation, your name will be placed in a drawing for a holiday basket containing gift certificates from local businesses as well as holiday goodies! If you would like enter/donate, please stop by the circulation desk for any entry form or download, print, and turn in the bottom portion of this letter with your donation of cash or check made out to Friends of S.A.D.L. by Dec. 18. Forms and donations can be mailed to Shelby Area District Library, 189 Maple Street, Shelby, MI 49455. Drawing for the Friends Holiday Basket will be Dec. 19. All proceeds from Celebration of the Holidays benefit your library!
