WHAT'S HAPPENING AT YOUR LIBRARY......       

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME

We offer a weekly preschool storytime led by Mrs. Blohm.  Fridays at 10am.

No registration required. 

1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN

Thanks to a donation from The Gerber Foundation, we are able to provide this program to babies, toddlers, preschoolers.

2023 SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Our summer reading program for children, teens, and adults will be offered June 13 through July 31.  Registration begins June 13. 

Thanks to the Shelby Optimist Club for their generous donation to our youth summer reading program.

The Shelby Library, alongside The Library Network and the Lakeland Library Cooperative, is proud to announce the addition of new digital content and programming tools through two American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grants.

New content for patrons has been added in the following areas:

● Audio & e-Books - OverDrive content in education, health, job-seeking skills, and workforce development

● Online programs - New and improved virtual programming

● Outdoor programs - Safe and fun programs outside

DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library makes reading exciting and fun for your children!  Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child's name directly to your home, with no cost or obligation to your family.  It is a FREE GIFT, made possible by generous donations to United Way of the Lakeshore.  Children ages birth through five who are residents of Oceana County are eligible (please note:  children signing up should not be turning five within 3 months of application). MELCAT

MeLCat is a statewide multi-type library resource sharing program funded with an LSTA grant provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Library of Michigan.  This service allows library users to search for books, audio books, music, movies, and other library materials on-line and have items delivered to the library.  Search MeLCat
